About the Event
Course Description
This course defines intimate partner abuse and relationship violence, identifies and explains the power and control tactics used in domestic violence, explores the batterer attitudes and effects of abuse on all affected parties, and reviews the prevalence of domestic violence. Time is allotted to discuss questions and relevant case examples. Additionally, participants will receive information about local and online resources pertaining to domestic violence.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define intimate partner abuse and relationship violence
- Differentiate between DV and Anger Management
- Identify and explain power and control tactics used in DV
- Become familiar with local and online resources for DV batterers and victims
