Course Description
This training refreshes Qualified Supervisors of Registered CSW/MH/MFT Interns in Florida, including information relevant to distance supervision/therapy.
This course is required for Qualified Supervisors in FL every third biennium (6 years).
Course Objectives
This course will:

Review changes to Florida laws and rules relating to Interns and Supervisors,

Discuss various electronic delivery systems for supervision and methods for ensuring confidentiality,

Discuss ethical, legal and regulatory issues of supervision, including documentation of the supervisory sessions,

Review research of effective supervision models,
-
Review challenges in supervision,
-
Address how cultural issues can affect the supervisory relationship,
-
Discuss accountability of both the supervisor and the intern in the supervisory relationship,

Discuss the business aspects of supervision.
About the Presenter
Julie L. Williams, MSEd, LMHC is a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in Florida. She has been licensed as a mental health counselor in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Florida. She has experience working in schools, community mental health, forensic settings, and private practice. Currently, she is the co-owner of Thrive Counseling & Consultation, LLC where she specializes in the treatment of anxiety and trauma-related disorders for adolescents and adults. Her research interests include the assessment and treatment for perpetrators of sex trafficking.
